What a fantastic day! It was amazing to see so many club members racing yesterday. Beachborough colours’ dominated the course in all age groups. Head coach, Hester was overwhelmed with emotion at the end of the day – all the coaches are truly proud of your performance in the pool, on the bike and running!
A big thanks goes out to all our parents, volunteers and helpers who made this day so successful – without you our home event could not happen.
Racing was fast and serious!
With all age groups full to capacity the Youths started off the day nice and early. Just as they came out onto the bike course the rain came, making the bike course slippery and challenging. Luckily, this eased and by the time T3’s came through from the swim the sun shone albeit, briefly! The bike course stayed relatively drama-free throughout the day considering the amount of rain we had in the build-up to race day. The individual races finished with the Tri-Starts who tackled the worn down course brilliantly!
The day ended with the thrilling Team Relays. With the ‘Team GB’ win still on our minds from the day before, at Nottingham, the team spirit was truly inspirational! The screams could be heard from the other side of the bike track – What an atmosphere?
Four seasons in one day – From wind to rain, cold and black clouds, to even a little sunshine! None of these took away from the excitement of the day.
