On Saturday 21st of May, I competed in the chapel Aquathlon. We had quite a long drive down to Southampton.
The pool was different to Brackley as it was only 20 meters long. For TS2 it was 13 lengths, so the swim was 260 meters, not 200 meters, which was a bit different. My swim felt pretty good as I overtook another boy that started in front of me on the 9th length.
The transition was just outside the pool. I think my transition could have been quicker, so I will practise this before my next race.
The run was 1800 metres on a grass field which was 3 laps in total. On the day it was hot and the sun was beaming down on us. The run felt great until the third lap which was the final one. I overtook someone and felt good again until the last 100 metres. At the end, it was a sprint finish and someone over took me as I crossed the line.
This was the best race I have ever done because people from Beachborough were cheering me on and I really enjoyed taking part.
I can’t wait for my next race as there will be cycling as well as swimming and running.
